Life Membership -- Sandy Arrowsmith

Sandy Arrowsmith has volunteered and worked in various roles in soccer in Ontario for over 40 years.  She has been involved at all levels including Club, District, and Provincial Association over that time span.

Sandy began as an employee of Ontario Soccer in 1982 and eagerly took on whatever tasks were asked of her.  Her responsibilities ranged from assisting with Ontario Soccer events such as Annual General Meetings and soccer conferences to serving as the Discipline Coordinator.

Sandy then took her talents to Whitby Iroquois Soccer Club where she began working and volunteering in 1997.  In addition to working as the Club Administrator, she volunteered as a member of their Discipline Committee, a Volunteer Screening Officer, and she also worked to ensure their annual Mini-Fest was a resounding success year after year.  After retiring in 2013, she became a member of the Whitby Iroquois Soccer Club Board where she continued to serve on their various committees.

In addition to Sandy’s work and volunteerism at the Club level, Sandy also volunteered at both the District and Provincial levels.

In 2008, Sandy joined the Durham Region Soccer Association (DRSA) Board of Directors where she became the Chair of their Governance Committee.  With Sandy’s interest in good governance, she also joined the Ontario Soccer Governance Committee in 2013.  In March, 2018, Sandy was elected as the DRSA Vice President.  At that time, she served as the DRSA representative at many Ontario Soccer meetings/functions.  Soon after, the DRSA membership recognized Sandy’s valuable contributions and elected her as the DRSA President in April, 2019.  Today, Sandy continues to serve the DRSA as their Past President.

The DRSA is very proud of all of the contributions that Sandy has made to the game of soccer at the various levels, and had no hesitation in recommending that she be recognized and honoured for her dedication and hard work with an Ontario Soccer Life Membership.
